Special Interest Groups:

Gippsland

The Gippsland wound special interest group is open to members who provide wound care as part of their clinical role or who provide support/education to other clinicians in evidence based wound managment. We do not discriminate against nursing or clinicial qualifications. We encourage anybody currently interested or involved in wound management at any level to join the network if they live in the Gippsland region.
We aim to produce several newsletters each year and meetings 1-2 times a year or as workshops/clinical seminars arise.
Info can be obtained by emailing rebecca.tyler@ydhs.com.au or atate@chairo.vic.edu.au

About

The purpose of Regional Wound Groups (formerly known as Wound Special Interest Groups) is to provide support to clinicians in regional areas and enhance wound management skills.  The main objective of these groups is to promote and support a collaborative approach to wound management in a region.

The WMAV committee has allocated funds and secretariat support available to assist regional wound groups in order to facilitate the growth and activities of the group.  Funds can be sought by application to the committee for support of professional development activities such as conference, seminar or meeting in an area relevant to wound management and the promotion of evidence based practice.

In order to be eligible for funding the member applying must be a financial member of WMAV at the time of application.  The successful applicant must provide proof of payment and be willing to submit a short report to the committee for publication in “Connective Issues” prior to receipt of funds.
